CLIENTS
We have been retained for the “heavy weight” stuff - for
instance:
-
Liverpool City Council - the
city has now commissioned us on five retainers. That currently
is the prospective relocation of their substantial St. Johns
Market to alternative premises in Williamson Square. Working as
the council’s specialist, we have a supervisory role over the
future layout, stall design, access ways and internal facilities
as well as advising on the scope of the future budget.
-
Thornfield Properties plc -
working in parallel with other consultants we were invited to
advise on the possibilities and prospects of an indoor market on
their prospective redevelopment of part of the Smithfield
complex in central London. Much had to be considered including
the possible retention of the old Victorian iron columns and trellis
work as an alternative to a complete make-over.
-
Hackney London Borough - we
have joined with a leading research/retail specialist and a
major practice of chartered surveyors in a complete
evaluation of this borough’s several markets. Our function is
critical in that we advised on a comparative analysis of the
financial position. The rentals receivable; the combination of
costing elements; analysing the past trends; consideration of
the management hierarchy and a formal fiscal plan; budget
projections; and levels of trader involvement.
-
Watford Borough Council - we
advised that this council should consider the closure of its
large indoor market which had been successful for many years,
rather than the crippling expenses of a complete refurbishment. We
concluded that a large street market would be a viable and
vigorous answer that would far outweigh the decline and
accumulating shortfall on its current operations.
